Soma is the largest company for electromagnetic steel laminations and cores in South America. We produce high-quality sheets that offer value and productivity for the industry, as well as durability and safety in the final product. We take pride in the work we have been doing for over two decades.
Founded in 2008, Pro-Sol is a manufacturer of solar heating systems (SAS), consisting of thermal reservoirs and collectors. The company offers products with excellent cost-benefit and quality, thanks to its experienced team. In 2024, Pro-Sol merged with Heliotek, becoming Heliotek’s specialized product line for energy efficiency.
Acquired in 2021, Heliotek has a vast portfolio consisting of solar water heating systems for baths and pools, as well as heat pumps. Heliotek is also the official and exclusive distributor of Bosch gas heaters in the country, responsible for the import, distribution, and support of this product line.
Heliotek holds the exclusive distribution rights for Bosch’s gas heating product line, offering highly efficient water heating solutions for both residential and commercial applications.
Historical milestones in the construction of Grupo Soma.
Tempel Steel Co., headquartered in Chicago (USA), arrives in Brazil. The following year, it establishes itself in Ribeirão Pires (SP), in the same plant where Grupo Soma is located to this day.
Soma is established as a result of the acquisition of the Brazilian subsidiary of Tempel Steel Co.
Soma seized the opportunities for the localization of electromagnetic steel laminations and cores that were previously imported. By investing in machinery, processes, and people, it became the largest sheet stamping company in the sector in Brazil.
Soma continued to be strategic, and an important historical milestone this year was the start of aluminum injection operations. In 2006, the second building and manufacturing area were constructed.
Three partners from Soma and three other entrepreneurs founded the manufacturer of solar heaters and collectors, which quickly became a leader in the Social Housing (HIS) market.
In a short time, Pro-Sol gained prominence by participating in major social housing projects, working intensively in this niche in the following years.
At the end of this year, Grupo Soma was formed with the acquisition of full control of Pro-Sol’s capital, unifying the partnership and having the same corporate structure in both companies.
Pro-Sol, which previously operated in the neighboring city of Mauá (SP), is fully transferred to Ribeirão Pires (SP) and into the new building constructed at the Group’s manufacturing plant.
Grupo Soma acquires Heliotek Thermotechnology, one of the major players in the solar heating systems market. It also becomes the exclusive distributor of Bosch gas heaters in Brazil.
The merger of the companies in the solar heating market resulted in the largest company in Latin America, with an increase of 3,000 m² in manufacturing area, an expanded product portfolio, and a strong presence in retail.
In 2023, Grupo Soma celebrates 25 years since the founding of its first company. To maintain the legacy of customer focus of the Heliotek brand, in June of this year, we expanded our portfolio with the launch of the Heliotek Premium Gas Heater and the Wavetek Heat Pump.
In 2023, we inaugurated our distribution center in Santa Catarina, with modern infrastructure and advanced technology. Located 30 minutes from the ports of Navegantes and Itajaí, and on an easily accessible highway, it optimizes storage and distribution, resulting in faster and more efficient deliveries for customers.
We launched a complete line of solar collectors, ranging from products aimed at cost-conscious consumers to the Elite, the solar collector with the highest efficiency on the market and one of the best in the world.
Currently, our infrastructure covers a total area of 45,000 m², including 14,500 m² of manufacturing space, as well as offices for around 260 employees, strategically located in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
